About the ABA
Organized in 1978, the Appalachian Blacksmiths Association is an affiliate of ABANA. We represent blacksmiths, bladesmiths, and farriers in West Virginia and its surrounding states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, and Kentucky.
We publish a quarterly newsletter which keeps our membership up to date on events. The newsletter also features many metalworking tips.

The Appalachian Blacksmiths Association serves blacksmiths and bladesmiths from West Virginia and surrounding states. We hold our Spring and Fall conferences at our Forge at Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley, WV which is off I-77 between Parkersburg and Charleston. (See the red box on the map.) We also hold Hands-On Workshops at our teaching Forge at Cedar Lakes, thourough out the year.
Besides ABA conferences and workshops at Ceder Lakes, ABA hosts annual Hammer-Ins at several regional historical sites. ABA members also frequently host Hammer-Ins and workshops at their own facilities.
The ABA offers pins, hats, shirts, and various other merchandise for sale at meetings and events.
